With the spade connector

clamped into the pliers,
it is easy to position the
cable correctly, and then

squeeze the pliers closed.

Make sure a piece of insulation
is still in the clamping area of
the two large clamps.

One hand to squeeze the pliers,

and one hand to position the

cable in the right place.

On the right we show how the

copper conductor is clamped
into the spade connector. This

provides a good electrical con-

nection, but not yet a good me-

chanical locking. The two large
clamps need to be clamped firm-

ly around the insulation.
