In the Buses that Westfalia has transformed into motor homes, there are cabinet doors and drawers with handles that can be locked to prevent them from opening while driving. The refrigerator is an exception, it is not locked with a push button in the handle but with a belt.
The buckle and lock are made of brass in the Buses until 7/1965, after which they were made of plastic, which was cheaper to produce and more resistant to time.
The plastic handles are available in different colours, as was also the case at Westfalia at the time. The colour depended on the version and colour scheme chosen by the Westfalia owner.
