Until the model change in 1967, all Volkswagen Buses were equipped with kingpins, which were then replaced by ball joints.
If a ball joint has too much play, replace that part and it is done. It's a whole different story with older kingpins, so a complete overhaul takes much longer.
A complete overhaul was also easier in the past, kingpins could often still be reused. With new bushings and bearings the overhaul was finished. Due to the advanced age of our VW Buses, there are only a few cars that do not require a complete overhaul, and in many cases, it is inevitable that the kingpins must be replaced.
The kingpins are supplied with a sleeve and a needle bearing.
Note : For the revision, you will need several parts, under the options tab and the related parts tab, you will find the parts you will probably need. In addition, you need special tools and a press at your disposal to do the work.
