Until July 1960, all Volkswagen Beetle models were equipped with a mechanical choke, opened by a cable.
From August 1960 to July 1965, it was used only on models intended for the domestic market, which was also the most economical Volkswagen Beetle model in the brochure.
When the manual choke was discontinued, every Volkswagen was fitted with an electric choke.
This choke cable is supplied with a grommet, but without the control knob which is mentioned in the "options" tab.
