Caution: Only suitable for left-hand drive cars
During regular maintenance, you should also check that the pedals are working properly and correct any faults. Unfortunately, this is rarely done, and once it doesn't work properly, we'll look into it. If the accelerator pedal lever is deformed, there is always a reason, but this will not happen in normal use. If the pedal has too much play on the pivot axis, it may end up on the lever incorrectly and slowly deform. You can fold it back in the right shape, but there's a good chance it will tear again, even if there's no more play on the throttle.
For the Volkswagen Beetle, Karmann Ghia, Type 3 and VW Thing, there is on one side the roller which is operated with the accelerator pedal and on the other side the accelerator cable is mounted. On Volkswagen Buses the rod is mounted on the accelerator pedal and on the other side the accelerator cable is mounted. Since this lever is located under the floor of the passenger compartment of a Volkswagen Bus, it is much more vulnerable to rust, and if it has never been examined, it must be replaced on many Volkswagen Bus models. If you are going to buy a throttle repair kit for a Volkswagen Bus, you do not need this lever, it is also included in the kit. With the remaining Volkswagens, it is still a spare part that is not in a repair kit.
