Starting in 1964, Volkswagen models in the upper segment are equipped with decorative aluminium trim rings that cover the steel wheels except for the outer edges. These aluminum rings are not aftermarket accessories as many people think, but they were originally used by Volkswagen at the factory.
Like the original, the reproductions mentioned here fit only on standard rims that were mounted at the time, i.e. 4.5 inches wide, where the difference between the 5-hole rims is in the number of holes corresponding to the holes in the rim. If you are not sure if your rims are still original, count the holes before ordering.
Press the ring with the wheel cap evenly onto the rim, this will push the ring into the right shape and it will get stuck between the wheel cap and the rim.
