Vintage tuning is a new trend in which the standard engine is adapted as it was in the 1960s, when there were no dual intake engines yet. Thanks in part to the compact 34 mm carburetors, this unit is ideal for getting more power from your single intake engine. But it is also a perfect choice for dual intake engines. You do not need a double 40 mm for this, which makes it unnecessarily expensive. If you plan to increase the power even further with a larger displacement and a different camshaft, then this 34 mm clearance is not suitable and you will have to use dual 40-44 or 48 mm carburetors.
You can also order all the parts of these sets separately, but it is cheaper and easier to buy this complete set so that all the parts are matched to each other. If you already have the carburetors in your possession, it is advisable to order the necessary parts separately. Kits for single intake type 1 engines are available with Weber ICT carburetors or with EMPI EPC, for all other engines they are only available with EMPI 34 mm EPC carburetors. Weber does not need any further explanation, this brand has already proven itself in terms of quality, EMPI is a newcomer to the market. EMPI 34 EPC is a copy of the Weber ICT. Several tests have proven that they are not inferior to Weber's original, they are only much more attractive in terms of price. The only thing we don't know yet is what they do after 10 years, Weber has a big advantage in terms of his reputation. If you prefer to buy a Weber ICT carburetor set (which we do not offer as a complete set), you will have to compose it yourself. The Weber ICT game is also composed of EMPI components, only the carburetors are from Weber in this case.
The kits consist of the following parts:
- 2 single 34 mm carburetors (EMPI or Weber)
- 2 aluminium manifolds
- 2 air filters
- throttle linkage
- coil position change support (only for type 1 engines)
- preheating plates (only for type 1 engines)
- fuel/vacuum hoses and hose connections
- seals and fixing materials
