The struts of the Volkswagen Beetle 1302 and 1303 are mounted on the body with the upper bearing unit. In this unit, there is a bearing that ensures that the strut rotates smoothly and without play during steering. On models up to 7/1973, the bearing was vulcanised to some extent and in the following years it was replaced by a bearing that was encapsulated in a loose rubber.
Disturbing vibrations can cause a worn bearing or the vulcanized rubber or the separate rubber is digested or torn. If this is the case, replace the entire upper bearing assembly and not just the loose bearing, only then are you assured of a smooth, well-functioning assembly. Will be delivered complete, each (left and right are equal).
