When you buy an oil pressure gauge, you also need a transducer or sender that is mounted in place of the oil pressure gauge. The VDO and Cronomac instruments are supplied without sender.
Cronomac uses VDO inside, so you must use a VDO sender as well.
VDO senders are combined with an oil pressure switch and can therefore be mounted in place of the existing oil pressure switch without using an adapter.
Additional information for air-cooled engines : If a brass ring is included it gives the impression that it must connect against the crankcase, this is not applicable for air-cooled engines. The thread is conical, so the sender does not have to be screwed in to the end. If you do, there is a good chance that the sender will be broken or that the crankcase will be damaged beyond repair. It is better to tighten it a little too loose so that leakage can be seen, than to tighten it too tight all at once, resulting in a cracked crankcase.
