It was not until 1970 that disc brakes were fitted to the front axle. Very strange, considering that most Volkswagen Buses were used for freight transport, the braking capacity had to be more than sufficient. It was therefore advisable to adapt your speed to your load, as drum brakes take longer to stop than disc brakes.
In many VW Bus models, the existing engine is replaced by a larger displacement engine with more power. What people often don't think about are the brakes. More power is good, but you also need to be able to slow it down, which is why this package has been developed to improve your braking power.
With the disc brake set mentioned here, you have all the parts you need to transform your existing drum brakes into disc brakes.
Note: The track width differs from the old situation with drum brakes, the difference per side is mentioned as an additional remark with the set. Keep in mind that sets for the years from August 1967 onwards cannot be fitted in combination with lowered spindles.
