At the time, pop-out side windows could be installed at VW dealerships, replacing the fixed rear side windows. By pulling a lever, the rear side windows opened a few centimeters. This option was particularly popular in warmer climates.
The pop-out retractable window rests on a finishing edge of the bodywork, with rubber attached to the retractable edge to ensure water- and noise-tightness.
Note: Use only glycerine for smooth assembly; the use of any other lubricant will void the warranty on the rubber, as it may accelerate the aging process. If necessary, order the glycerine pen in addition (see 'Options' tab).
