Some rims use a completely different mounting method than the standard bolt or nut assembly. A threaded rod is placed and the rim is fixed with a nut, the first part of which is thickened (the rim therefore has large mounting holes). Before turning the nut on the threaded end, a flat washer is inserted into the rim recess. This mounting method has several major advantages, the rim is less damaged during tightening, and the rim is mounted much better, loosening is almost impossible. It goes without saying that your rim must be adapted to this or it must be modified.
The threaded end must be turned all the way into the brake drum or disc where the use of a locking agent (e.g. Loctite) is recommended. To facilitate the screwing, it is equipped with a power socket.
This kit is available for cars with M12 and M14 threads, see the technical data tab to find out which thread applies to your Volkswagen.
