Our classic Volkswagen needs to be lubricated at a number of points during every service. The grease nipple used for this purpose works on one side only, the grease can only be pressed into it. If the grease can no longer be pressed in or if the grease is no longer retained, the grease nipple must be replaced.
Over the years, the number of lubrication points has been greatly reduced, so the applications listed may differ from year to year. The thread or shape of the grease nipple may also change over the years.
It is advisable to measure the thread before ordering, especially because Volkswagen has changed the thread size for some applications at the factory, without keeping track of the specific year of manufacture that was changed.
Below we show what the M8 x 1.00 angled grease nipples were used for at the factory, as the thread size may have changed in the meantime. The number mentioned indicates how many were used in total for this application.
