With our Volkswagen Bus, we see 3 different configurations of seats and/or benches at the front of the cabin.
-Only one complete bench in the Volkswagen Split Bus.
-Two separate seats in the Volkswagen Split Bus and Bay Window.
-A separate seat for the driver and a double seat for the passenger(s).
The two-seater seat for the passenger is called a cabin bench 2/3.
Over time, the seat or bench sags, causing the upholstery to tear. These cracks are caused by the space created between the padding and the upholstery. But the most annoying thing is the lack of seating comfort. Check the condition of the padding before you begin to install the upholstery. A new upholstery on an old, sagging padding gives a reasonable result immediately after installation, but after a few months the padding starts to lose its shape and the upholstery still has to be replaced.
The padding is available in the same material as that used by Volkswagen at the time, it is made from cocoa grass, better known as horsehair.
Between the springs and the padding there must be a damping felt that protects the padding, this will also prevent accidental noise caused by the springs, order this additionally (see options tab)
