The most sensitive part of a convertible is the soft top, which wears down over the years or is the target of vandalism.
We only use high quality convertible tops. The fabric is also used by Mercedes and Porsche, so the quality of these convertible tops is better than that used by Volkswagen at the time. The adjustment is very precise due to the exact dimensions and therefore fits perfectly to the roof frame and bodywork, without any leakage or rattling of the convertible top.
Just like the original, we have two types, a vinyl (also called PVC) soft top that Volkswagen usually supplied as standard and a deluxe canvas (fabric) soft top. These were delivered as standard in the 1950s and later became available as options.
The colors are the same as those supplied by Volkswagen, although we have not included all colours in our range. If you want a color that is not in the list, you can, in most cases, order it as a special order. Please allow for a delivery time of about 2 months.
We're only talking about the outer convertible tops here. Interior headliners, insulation packages, etc. are available separately
On Volkswagen Beetle convertibles, the rear window is not cut out; this only has to be done when the top is fitted. With the Karmann Ghia convertible tops with a plastic rear window, the glass is already fitted in the convertible top, similar to the original.
