The exhaust system of a Volkswagen Beetle or Karmann Ghia does not last forever.
A muffler will last longer if the car is used a lot, whereas if it's used little, the muffler will have to be replaced sooner. Moisture accumulating in the muffler is more likely to develop into corrosion with moderate use than with daily use.
The "Options" tab lists the parts required for installation, as well as the standard exhaust tail pipes available.
Note: Most standard mufflers come with a shipping paint to prevent rusting during transport and storage. If you wish to maintain the beauty of your exhaust, you'll need to treat it regularly with a heat-resistant lacquer, as the transport lacquer will largely wash off immediately after start-up.
