The torsion leaf springs are held in the front axle by sleeve locking screws secured by special flat nuts.
Hexagon socket screws are often damaged, which is due to an incorrectly adjusted hexagon key in relation to the dirt. First clean the hole in the hexagon socket, loosen the lock nut and then the hexagon socket screw, using a suitable Allen key (8 mm).
Screws and lock nuts are supplied separately. For the VW Type 3, you need one set of each and for the remaining Volkswagens, two sets of each to replace them all.
