Wenn das Verdichtungsverhältnis durch eine Bearbeitung der Zylinderköpfe erhöht wird, werden die ursprünglichen Stößelstangen zu lang. Dadurch sind die Ventile nicht mehr richtig eingestellt und die Kipphebel-Einstellbolzen sitzen nicht mehr richtig auf dem Ventilschaft.
Mit diesen Einstellplatten oder Unterlegscheiben kann die Ventilgeometrie wieder korrekt eingestellt werden, sie sind auch bei Verwendung von Ventilschaftkappen zu empfehlen. Auch bei der Montage der Ventileinstellschrauben mit Druckkugeln oder Druckfüßen (auf der Registerkarte "Zugehörige Teile" angegeben) ist es notwendig, dass diese bündig mit dem Kraftstoffkanal sind.
Sie werden unter der Kipphebelwelle montiert und sind in verschiedenen Stärken erhältlich.
