These gaskets are standard in our rear axle gasket kits, B-quality gearbox gasket kits and rear wheel bearing kits for cars with swing axles *.
They are therefore only suitable for vehicles fitted with a swing axle axle gearbox *. They are fitted between the rear axle bearing bracket and the anchor plate.
For the Volkswagen Beetle, Karmann Ghia and VW Bus, these seals were only factory-fitted from a certain year of manufacture. Previously, the bearing retainer was mounted against the anchor plate without a gasket. For a better seal, we recommend using this gasket for older models too.
* swing axles can be identified by a rubber sleeve mounted on the gearbox side, while IRS axles are separate shafts (with homocinets) with rubber sleeves on both sides.
