For a Volkswagen Bus equipped with an automatic gearbox, it differs completely from the manual version.
There are two housings, one under the gearbox and the other under the differential. The one under the automatic gearbox contains the ATF fluid, and the one under the differential contains the differential oil.
each time you change the oil, you'll need to replace the gasket. Reusing and handling the liquid seal means exposing yourself to leaks.
The automatic gearbox seal is a U-shaped rubber seal, and the differential seal is a cork seal.
If you've purchased a gasket kit, the U-shaped rubber gasket is included, but the differential gasket is not. It's a good idea to always have both seals in stock, so you don't make a mistake when the ATF fluid and differential oil need changing.
