The pilot shaft bearing is located in the crankshaft of a type 4 and WBX engine.
It is advisable to always replace this bearing when replacing the clutch disc and the pressure unit. Now that the engine is dismantled anyway, this work is no longer a problem.
However, many also forget to replace the dust seal, in many cases it is no longer present and it is not known that this is necessary to protect the needle bearing from dust.
The greased bearing attracts dust like a magnet and before you know it, it is no longer grease but a muddy substance that causes the bearing to wear more quickly.
