The window recess is located in the door rebate, into which the window slides. If a fixed or pivoting vent window is installed, the window slot mentioned here is not suitable. This window housing is a different size and you will need to order it separately, it is mentioned on the options tab.
With the exception of the Volkswagen Vanagon, there are two types, the model that has the same length as the original and an extra long universal version that is used for "one-piece" door windows and due to its length is very suitable for kit cars or other home-made creations.
The window channel of the Volkswagen Vanagon serves not only as a seal and guide for the hinged window, but also as an exterior finish, whereas on all other Volkswagens the finish is made of aluminium.
With the exception of the VW Vanagon, the window housings are fixed with clamps that are snapped into the door rebate. These clamps often break during removal, so it is advisable to order them at the same time, they are mentioned in the options tab. With the Vanagon, no extra clamps are used but the profile is clamped around the rebate.
