The location where the belts are installed is crucial for the safety of the driver and passengers. This mounting point must be in good condition. While everyone agrees, we often find the opposite is true.
When you put on your seatbelt, you know you're starting your trip safely, but if the mounting location is affected by rust, it's no longer at all certain that your seatbelt offers the safety you can expect.
On all Volkswagen Bus models, the additional reinforcement to which the mounting nut is attached is on the outside of the bodywork, i.e. in an area that is very sensitive to rust. If corrosion takes over, the sheet metal around the reinforcement will rust. It is therefore recommended to check the condition of the seat belt mounting area regularly.
The repair parts listed here replace not only the nut with the location, but also a part of the surrounding bodywork. For both the cab and the rear seat, these are parts of the inner fenders. Therefore, it is not necessary to replace a complete inner fender, but only the part in which the seat belt is fitted needs to be replaced.
We recommend that you use the entire sheet metal part and have it professionally welded.
