Depending on the year of manufacture and the VW model, the tie rod with left-hand thread are secured with an M14 flat nut.
The nut mentioned here is identical to the original and therefore also provided with notches to indicate that it is a nut with left-hand thread.
Despite the fact that this is a so-called standard part, you won't find it on the shelves of DIY stores and certainly not with the exact design as Volkswagen used it in the 50s, 60s and 70s.
This nut is just like the original, not protected against corrosion. Excessive corrosion and damage due to the use of improperly chosen tools is therefore the most common reason for replacement.
