The spring that retracts the clutch arm rotates on a guide cap. Rust and frequent use can cause this guide cap to wear off and tip the spring. The spring fits around this guide to create a stable arrangement.
If there are several models available for your vehicle, the difference in year of manufacture is in the diameter of the clutch fork, 16 mm for the older models and 20 mm for the younger ones.
