In addition to the standard exhaust system, there are many sporty exhausts that produce a heavier sound and give our Volkswagen a sportier look. Mounting a Monza exhaust system gives the impression that there is a high performance engine at the rear, when only the exhaust has been replaced.
The Monza is equipped with 63 mm thick chromed exhaust pipes coming from under the rear panel. Due to the construction the flow is improved compared to the original, which contributes to increase the power of the engine.
The Monza for type 1 engine is not equipped with spacer parts that make the connection between the heating hose and the heat exchanger. In order to still be able to connect the heat exchanger, a flexible aluminium hose is supplied which is connected directly to the heat exchanger, it is advisable to take an extra hose (see replacement parts tab), use a hose for both sides (to cut) you have to tension the hose quite strongly which makes it very vulnerable.
For type 4 engines this is not applicable, it is directly connected to the heat exchangers as is also the original case, for injection engines the complete catalyst is omitted.
The gaskets are included for the exhaust itself, for type 1 engines it is still necessary to order the clamps with the gaskets for mounting on the heat exchanger (see options tab).
Caution : The black transport paint is intended not to rust in warehouses, immediately after starting it comes off largely. If you want to keep the exhaust system black, you will have to treat it regularly with heat-resistant paint.
