If your engine has been fitted with a long-stroke crankshaft, if your compression ratio has been changed or if the cylinders have been machined, the original pushrods may no longer be usable in terms of length.
The solution to this problem is to use "blank end" pushrods, which are made of chrome-moly, making them stronger than the originals.
Cutting to length is a simple but precise job, use a tube cutter and the special cut-to-length tool (listed in the options tab). Be sure to push the cups in exactly in a straight line, because if you push them in crooked you will damage the pushrods and the cup will come off sooner or later, damaging the motor.
Two sets are available, both have 9.5mm thick chrome moly pushrods with a wall thickness of 0.89mm, the big difference is the hardness of the cups which makes the difference in quality and price.
Black End pushrods in chrome-molybdenum
Ideal for engines with original tappets and rocker arms (standard or 1:25 ). If you use this set with modified rocker arms, where the adjustment is done on the tappet instead of the valves, if your cylinder heads are equipped with double springs or modified tappets, there is a good chance that the cylinder heads will corrode, these are less suitable.
Heavy Duty chrome moly black end pushrods
This set is the perfect solution for all types of engines, the cylinder heads can handle any type of engine setting, whether your cylinder heads are equipped with double valve springs, rocker arms 1:25 or 1:40 rocker arms where the adjustment is done on the cam follower, or custom cam followers. These heavy-duty pushrods are a favorite of professional engine builders who don't want to leave anything to chance.
Note: Never repair bent pushrods, because in the foreseeable future they will be bent again.
