The metal frame of the Volkswagen Beetle convertible, in which the wood trim is mounted in front of the rear window, is in many cases heavily rusted and deformed.
This new frame is equipped with synthetic parts fitted for the construction years from 1974 and pressed wood for the older models with construction years up to 1974. Synthetic material has the advantage of never rotting, just pre-drill before nailing the convertible top, as it is harder than wood.
The frame has been prepared for the construction years from 1974 and later, it is therefore ready for assembly. While the model for the older years up to 1974 is made of stainless steel, you will never have problems with this type of material again.
Install the frame correctly, the area where there are recesses for wiring the rear window heater (if applicable) must face down.
Note : Before installing the frame into the hood of your convertible, make sure the rear window with window rubber fits into the rear window frame so there are no surprises later.
