Most Volkswagen Bus models are equipped with a partition between the cabin and the loading area to protect the driver and co-driver(s) from falling loads. The lower part is always made of metal and is therefore part of the bodywork. If the wall is higher, this top part is made of profiled compressed cardboard with a glass pane to ensure a rear view and to keep an eye on the load. Due to the choice of materials, this upper part is no longer present on many VW Buses, but with a good restoration it should also be repaired. Most partitions are made of wood instead of pressed cardboard, plywood is the best material for this, it is thin, strong and watertight.
Our window is the same as the original tempered glass and the rubber is not universally glued but is made in a mould with corners moulded like the original, which guarantees a perfect fit and appearance.
If you have a VW Bus from before 1955, there is no window and window rubber available with the right dimensions. If you have to make the partition yourself, you may consider using the window from the last year of construction, although the dimensions will not be the same as the original.
