With every classic Volkswagen, once the ignition lock fails, wear and tear due to frequent use is the cause.
A broken key won't happen as quickly, you might think. Nevertheless, it happens several times a year, and even then, you will have to replace the part of the key or the entire ignition lock, even if you have lost the key.
Most ignition locks consist of two parts, the key part and the electrical part. If your ignition has worked properly, there is no need to replace the electrical part. If it is necessary, it will be indicated in the Options tab.
Comes with two keys that don't match your other keys, so you'll have an extra key on your key ring.
