On cars with Type 1 engines, this clamp secures the metal fuel hose to the left-hand side of the fan shroud. On Type 3 engines, it is used to secure the fuel hose, of which there are two.
Don't forget that the fuel line on Type 1 engines must be fitted with a 25 mm hose to prevent damage. Take this extra if necessary, it's mentioned in the options tab.
If you own a 1200cc engine from 1976 onwards (engine number D 1 371 481 ), you won't come across this collar, as the fuel line is attached with the spark plug cables to the fan shroud. You'll find this collar in the "other models" tab.
This clamp was also used to secure the straight oil pump line on VW Beetles and Karmann Ghias with automatic gearboxes.
