These stud adapters can be used when you are going to mount a type 1 oil cooler on a crankcase equipped with an M8 stud, when your oil cooler actually needs an M6.
In addition, they are also repair studs for the oil sump plate. If the sump plate is tightened too tightly, there is a risk that the threaded end will be removed from the crankcase.
Drill the hole and tap the M8 thread, you have now not only repaired but also reinforced the torn off stud. With M8 you will no longer damage the thread easily, certainly not with the prescribed tightening torque of 7 Nm.
You can also use M8 for all kinds of other applications where M8 has to be converted to M6.
