Most cars use bolts for mounting the rims, but you can also change this to studs with nuts. This makes changing wheels much easier and gives you more options for non-standard rims.
To do this, you need loose threaded ends that you turn with a locking device (e.g. Loctite) in the disc or drum until it is fixed on the part where there is no screw action (the short threaded part comes into the drum or disc). Then you choose a nut that meets your needs and fits your rim with the M14 x 1.5 thread and the whole thing is converted from bolts to nuts.
