Caster and Toe
By reading this article, it has probably already become a little clearer that there is a lot of hidden science in the chassis and suspension of our classic Volkswagen, to optimally position the car on the road surface. It has also already become clearer that adjusting one parameter will affect another. Similarly, the deviation of one wheel will affect another. We've seen that replacing narrow bias tires with wide radials gives the car a cool look, but sometimes at the expense of ride comfort and handling. Not directly because of the larger tire area, but because of the change in sanding radius, which will cause the tires to offer too much resistance in turns. The choice of new rims with a correct ET value is then part of the study, as is the choice of tire size.
