Volkswagen valde just kuggväxlar för att göra motorn så tyst som möjligt. En annan fördel är att kamaxellagren inte slits för mycket.
Om du väljer setet med justeringsmöjlighet är kamaxelväxeln justerbar 2 eller 4 grader (använd de svarta justeringsskivorna om ingen justering behövs), du kan justera detta i efterhand genom oljepumpshålet.
