The door lock is fixed to the door by means of a screwed bracket on the one hand and a pin on the other hand, which is fixed in a bracket. This bracket is factory welded inside the B and C-pillars and is therefore not a separate replaceable part.
In many Buses, the hole into which the pin is to be inserted no longer has its original shape or the holder can no longer be saved for transfer during restoration. Although this support has never been available separately from Volkswagen, this reproduction offers a solution, you no longer have to look for a solution to this problem yourself.
Remove the remains of your old bracket and weld the new bracket in place and your door latch can be replaced properly.
Note: the bracket has a notch to insert the pin, once welded, the pin can no longer be inserted or removed in its entirety. After assembly, the pin can only be pulled up slightly to remove the latch from the door. In this way, the pin is protected against loss.
