The Phat Boy muffler has not been on the market for a long time, but it quickly became very popular thanks to its very robust design, heavy sound and sturdiness. This is not the cheapest muffler, but one of the best on the market, especially the completely seamless stainless steel version.
The power gain is optimally used with the Phat Boy and therefore also has a larger tube diameter, which you will only find with the Phat Boy when using separate silencers.
The Phat Boy is available in three versions: with black transport paint, ceramic coating and polished stainless steel.
The black transport paint is intended to prevent rusting in warehouses. If you want to keep the muffler black, you will have to treat it regularly with a heat resistant lacquer, immediately after starting the engine the paint will come off quickly.
With the chrome-coloured ceramic coating, you increase quality considerably, because the high processing temperature of 650º forms an impenetrable layer against corrosion, which prolongs service life and reduces temperature. Look out! The ceramic layer offers a longer service life but is not guaranteed against rust from the inside or outside if the ceramic layer is damaged.
The polished stainless steel version is constructed in such a way that there are no welds on the silencer, a silencer that, in terms of finish, stands out from other silencers and remains beautiful even after years. As with many separate mufflers, you don't have enough with the muffler alone, you still need a spaghetti that makes the connection between the cylinder heads (see the options tab).
