On air-cooled engines, the oil sieve behind the crankcase cover must be checked for damage at every oil change and cleaned. Seals and washers around the mounting nuts can no longer be reused. Once the seals are used, they leak irreversibly if you put them back in place.
For type 1, type 3 and CT/CZ motors, the kit consists of two seals, 6 copper rings and a sealing ring for the oil drain bolt (if the drain bolt is not present, you have some parts left).
For type 4 motors, the kit consists of two seals and a sealing ring for the drain bolt.
If you have fitted an additional 0.95 litre oil sump to your type 1, type 3 or CT/CZ engine, the seal between the sump cover and the additional sump is not the same as the original but much larger, it still needs to be replaced when changing the oil (more information can be found by clicking on the order number).
Tip: Originally, no liquid gasket is used, but with the ageing of our engines, the surfaces are increasingly corroded, which cannot always be absorbed by the gasket. It is therefore advisable to use a liquid seal (see options tab).
