To bridge the distance between the master cylinder and the brake fluid reservoir, Volkswagen used metal lines, which are less vulnerable than hoses.
The connections between the metal lines and those from the metal lines to the reservoir and on the master cylinder are made with pieces of brake hoses. Never use a normal fuel hose, but only a special hose for brake fluid (refer to the options tab), which resists the aggressive action of the brake fluid.
On the Volkswagen Beetle 1200, 1300 and 1500 the brake line is interrupted halfway and reconnected, this was done for practical production reasons, on the VW 1302 and 1303 it was not necessary, it could be made in one piece.
