This support is mounted at the rear of the chassis on which the gearbox rests. Many underestimate the importance of strong support, it must be remembered that the engine is only secured by this support, it is no longer supported anywhere else.
This reinforced version is several times stronger than the original and certainly than the reproductions available which are much too thin, it is better to keep the rusty original than to use the low-quality support.
In addition to the use on an original engine, it is certainly advisable for a performance engine to replace the original with this reinforced version. In addition to the reinforcement, this support also offers more possibilities thanks to the various holes present for the attachment of additional reinforcements, oil coolers, clamps, etc.
If you want to fit urethane gearbox rubbers on a Volkswagen Beetle or Karmann Ghia between 8.1972 and 12.1985, this is only possible if you also replace this gearbox support.
