If your Volkswagen is equipped with IRS, recognizable by the homokinets on the transmission and rear axle side, your car has an independent wheel suspension.
In the support arms, there are metal bushings into which rubbers are pressed. These bushes ensure a play-free connection between the support arms and the chassis. If they are worn, excessive play occurs, which does not help handling.
The standard control arm bushings listed here come per control arm, so you need two sets for both sides. It is recommended that you replace the bushings on both control arms at the same time. When wear occurs, you can assume that both support arms are wearing at the same time, even if this is not visible at first.
If you want to further improve the handling, you should opt for the urethane version, which you can find under the alternatives tab.
If your Volkswagen is equipped with swing axles and you want to convert them to IRS, check out the related parts tab, where you'll find the conversion brackets.
