The left and right cooling valves in the fanshroud are connected by a central stem. Thanks to the thermostat, both cooling valves are actuated simultaneously. When the engine warms up, the thermostat turns off, which opens the cooling valves. For this to work properly, there is a spring on the center rod that supports the opening.
This spring is mounted between the central control rod and the fanshroud.
