Our Volkswagen Bus had two types of mouldings: the first were made of aluminium, they were replaced by plastic mouldings in 1972.
Aluminium mouldings consist of two parts per window and are supplied with connecting parts. Install the mouldings in the rubber before inserting the glass with the rubber and the moulding in the groove.
The plastic mouldings, delivered in length and without connecting parts, can only be mounted after the glass with rubber has been pushed into the groove. It's easier with a tendon tractor.
During assembly, use only glycerin and no other lubricants such as grease, soapy water or any other substance, the rubber will be affected and within one year, cracks will appear in the corners.
Note : If you have purchased new Paruzzi rubbers, they are the same as the original, the year of manufacture indicates whether they are intended for aluminum or plastic mouldings. If your existing rubbers are not replaced, mount the old type of mouldings. If, instead of plastic mouldings, you prefer aluminium mouldings for your VW Bus from 8.1971, use the windows seal until 7.1971 .
