On VW Buses used as passenger transport or ambulances, the side doors are also equipped with trim panels on the inside.
On these Buses, the door handles are chromed instead of plastic and have a escutcheon that is also chromed. On the rear door, it falls against the trim and on the front door, against the locking mechanism where a spring behind the escutcheon keeps it pressed against the door handle.
Originally, the escutcheons were made of chromed steel. The one shown here is an improvement on the original, as instead of being chrome-plated steel, it is high-gloss polished stainless steel. Externally, there is no difference, but qualitatively, it is much higher where rust is excluded.
If you don't have the spring anymore, don't forget to order it, you can find it in the "options" tab. The same goes for the chrome door handle, which can be found in the list of "related parts".
