Only two things can wear out on door lock. First, the pin that the lock fits into can wear out from frequent use, and second, the rubber striker plate wedge, which ensures that the door is guided correctly to the lock and also eliminates play, can be torn off.
Once the pin is worn out, you have to buy a complete lock, but if only the wedge is damaged, you can also replace only the wedge.
The wedge consists of two metal plates with vulcanized rubber between them; drying out or frequent use can cause the plates to loosen or tear off.
