The most popular diesel engines used in the third generation Buses are those with turbo chargers, the most powerful diesel engines that Volkswagen has used in the factory.
Unfortunately, the turbo charger does not have eternal life. Lubrication problems are a frequent cause that causes the turbo charger propeller to run dry, an overhaul is the most obvious solution. The costs are often so high that it is not comparable to a brand new turbo. The only advantage of an overhaul is that you keep the original appearance of your Bus.
Many choose to buy a new turbo charger to make sure they have many miles without worries. If the cause of the failure is the oil supply, it is of course important to do a thorough research before installing the new turbocharger so that your new turbocharger does not suffer the same damage.
This new turbocharger is delivered complete with all necessary seals and mounting hardware, but without the air loading hose and oil return line, order them extra (see options tab).
Note : When installing a new turbocharger, the engine oil, oil filter and air filter must always be changed, there is no guarantee of any kind if it cannot be demonstrated that these parts have been changed simultaneously with the turbo.
