The window or door pillars form the connection between the bodywork and the roof of the Bus, they are indicated by letters starting at the front of the vehicle; A, B, C and sometimes also by a D pillar. The A-pillar is the first door post or the post on which the cabin door is hinged. If you do not want to replace the complete A-pillar (see Alternatives tab), you will need to restore it, the sheet metal parts listed here can help you.
If the sheet metal around the lower hinge containing the mounting plate still appears to be in order, but the lower part must be replaced, you can use a three-part restoration kit with which you can replace the lower part.
If the sheet metal around the hinge has also had its day, then you are in the luxury position of being able to replace the entire part from bottom to top of the hinge (obviously the hinge assembly is included in this). Of course you can also use it if the hinge mount is still in a good condition, but then you have to consider if you want to spend more money on this. This part is 100% identical to the original, drill out the spot welds, saw through just above the hinge assembly and the replacement part fits as if it were an original piece of sheet metal.
