The side windows of the Karmann Ghia and Volkswagen Beetle convertibles have no fixed door rebate at the top and side, but it is important that the side windows are perfectly below the roof line and therefore well sealed against rubber. To make this possible, the whole inside of the door is different from what it would be if there were door pillars. The complete side windows can be adjusted outwards or inwards.
If the adjustment mechanism is rusty, adjustment will be difficult. Therefore, make sure that everything is working properly and replace the adjusting screws if they are too affected by rust or if the screw head has broken. This last point may seem logical, until you have to adjust and find out that the previous owner used a clamp, you see that not everyone finds it necessary to replace the adjusting screws.
If you want to replace them all, you need four for the Volkswagen Beetle convertible and two for the Karmann Ghia.
