A spindle ball joint provides the mobile connection between the support arm and the spindle. The ball joint must adjust the rotational movement and absorb the inward and outward movement of the support arm. A rubber coating protects the ball joint from dirt and moisture and also retains the grease that lubricates the ball joint.
The grease in the ball joint is essential for long-lasting operation without excessive wear. The grease forms a film between the ball joint and the bowl of the ball joint and thus prevents metal-to-metal contact. Metal-to-metal contact will damage the ball joint and ball bowl resulting in excessive wear.
Note : If more than one quality is available, the difference is in service life. If no grade is listed or if the part is of quality A, it is a ball joint that is equal to the original. When it says B quality, you can assume that the life will be significantly reduced. The fit of both grades is identical.
Warning: Never use grease for pressing.
