In our Volkswagens, there are different caps to hide bolts and screws or to seal inspection holes.
Volkswagen often uses existing caps that have already been used for other purposes. Why develop something new when a cap already used in the past can perfectly fulfil its function, it will allow considerable savings on production costs.
The caps mentioned here are intended for 20 mm sheet metal holes and can be used universally if required. These caps were originally designed to close the door hinge bolts of the Volkswagen Beetle, they were semi-transparent until the end of 1985, after which they became black. Officially used only with the latest VW Beetles produced in Mexico. But the caps were not only used for the door hinges, the hinge bolts of the rear side window and the mounting holes of the spoiler frame were also out of sight with the convertible version. On the Karmann Ghia, they were used to close various inspection holes.
We have both colors in our assortment. You can choose the one you want. In the overview below, all applications are listed with the color originally used and the number required if you want to replace all of them for that application.
